Privacy Policy
BTC FAQ is a static educational site. This policy explains, in plain language, what it does and does not collect.
What this site itself collects
Nothing directly. There is no account, no login for readers, no newsletter signup, and no form that sends your personal information to us through this site. Reading a page does not require you to identify yourself.
Analytics — Google Analytics (GA4)
This site uses Google Analytics (GA4), measurement ID G-VPRV926E19, under the BTC-FAQ account, to understand aggregate traffic (which pages are read, in general terms). No Google Analytics measurement ID existed on the previous Squarespace site; this is a new, clean property created for this site. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect usage data under Google's own privacy policy. If analytics is removed before launch, that collection will not happen from this site.
Advertising — AdSense script carried over
The previous site's header included a Google AdSense script (publisher client ca-pub-1687059572161209, carried over from the Squarespace header code injection). If that script remains enabled on the live site, Google may set cookies and collect usage data under Google's own privacy policy when ads are served. If AdSense is removed before launch, that collection will not happen from this site. This policy should be re-checked at launch against whatever scripts are actually enabled.
Content editing (Decap CMS)
The Decap CMS admin area (/admin/) is for site editors only. Editors sign in through GitHub via a Cloudflare Pages OAuth proxy. That sign-in is handled by GitHub and Cloudflare, under their policies; this site does not store editor passwords.
Donations
Donation buttons on the Shop page are placeholders until BTCPay Server is set up as a later phase. No payment is processed by this site, and no wallet address is published here. When BTCPay payments go live, the BTCPay store's own privacy terms will apply to payments, and this policy will be updated.
Third-party links
Links to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other external sites take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies. This site is not responsible for their data practices.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here. Because this is a static site with no reader accounts, there is no way to notify readers individually.
